Protection of Donors’ Personal Data

The SwissHearts association, in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP, SR 235.1, revised FADP in force since September 1, 2023), undertakes to ensure the confidentiality, security, and integrity of all personal data collected as part of its activities, in particular during donations.

  1. Data Collected

In the context of donations, SwissHearts may collect the following data:

  • First and last name
  • Postal address
  • Email address
  • Bank details limited to the information necessary to process the donation
  • Amount and date of the donation
  • Any information voluntarily provided by the donor
  1. Purpose of Processing

The data is used exclusively for:

  • Administrative management of donations
  • Issuing donation confirmations or certificates
  • The association’s accounting
  • Compliance with Swiss legal obligations
  1. Non-Disclosure of Data

SwissHearts expressly guarantees that:

No personal data of donors is sold, rented, transferred, assigned, or disclosed to third parties, in any form whatsoever.

The data is accessible only to authorized members of the association’s committee and strictly within the scope of their duties.

SwissHearts implements all reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data against:

  • Unauthorized access
  • Loss
  • Alteration
  • Accidental or unlawful disclosure
  1. Data Retention Period

The data is retained only for the period necessary to comply with legal and accounting obligations, in accordance with Swiss law.

  1. Donors’ Rights

In accordance with the FADP, each donor has the following rights:

  • Right of access to their data
  • Right to rectification
  • Right to deletion to the extent permitted by law
  • Right to restriction of processing

This declaration is governed exclusively by Swiss law.
Any dispute falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Swiss courts.
